Since meeting at DCLX 2007, David and Chelsea have crafted a dance partnership dedicated to Balboa, Collegiate Shag, and Lindy Hop. They hold several dance titles, including 1st place in the 2010 All Balboa Weekend – Amateur ACBC competition and 2009 Canadian Shag Championship, as well as several Jack and Jill competitions placements in Balboa and Shag. They excel at breaking down mechanics in a way that is accessible and fun for dancers of all levels and learning styles. David and Chelsea are known for their boundless enthusiasm on the dance floor – when not tearing up the floor in DC, they can be found honing their skills and enjoying dance events throughout the U.S. and Canada.

DJ Mike Marcotte – Washington, DC
Over the last eight years, Mike Marcotte has DJ’ed and organized more major lindy and blues events than many dancers will attend in their lives: Lindy Focus, Philly Lindy Love, every DCLX, ILHC, the American Lindy Hop Championships, Frankie’s 95th, Bambloozled, and Red Hot Blues n BBQ. In addition to being one of the most respected and knowledgeable DJ’s in the country, Mike has always been a good friend to the Norfolk swing and blues community, so we are delighted to have him back in town playing music for us.

DJ Kristy Milliken – Raleigh,NC
Kristy began DJing, teaching, and organizing local and southeast regional events in 2005. You may have recently heard her DJing in Asheville (Lindy Focus), Raleigh (Eastern Balboa Championships), Nashville (Nashville Balboa Experience), Memphis (Bluesalicious), Charleston (CHEX), or our own Virginia Beach (VBLX). She especially enjoys tunes that feature baritone/bass sax, jazz organ, foreign language lyrics, and happy hand clapping. Not all together, though — She thinks that would be kind of weird.

Mike Herring (Swing C’ville)

Tappers Inc. took first prize at the 2009 Lindy Focus cabaret competition so we thought we’d share a delightful piece of dancing with you.
